Duolingo by Duolingo is an educational language learning app.
Duolingo is an app for anyone wanting get started in learning Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, or English. Follow step-by-step as you progress though the language program of your choice and before you know it you’ll be speaking nearly fluently in one of the several languages available in this app.
Once you have downloaded the app and opened it you are required to choose the language you would like to learn and then create an account for yourself. Once you have created an account you are taken to the first page where you choose the difficulty level you wish to start with. From the level one category the app starts you off with easy phrases such as “I am a man” or “The woman.” As you progress the phrases get more difficult and you are required to spell words and complete sentences.
Duolingo keeps track of your progress as you go and can tell you facts such as how many words you have learned, how many sentences, and the number of skill points you have earned. There is also a practice section which lets you go back over everything you have reviewed up to your current lesson just in case you may have forgotten something or need to brush up.
This app was updated to Version 1.1.1 on January 11, 2013 and included some bug fixes. Duolingo currently has 307 ratings with an average score of five out of five stars.
