 I will review Quiz for Bubble Guppies as a game and not as a Reference app. The app by Best Free is developed for both iPad and iPhone and weighs in at just over 12 MB.

In the past I have been quite vocal about apps being put in the wrong category. It’s like going to a supermarket and finding cereal between the vegetables or toilet paper in the freezer. It simply makes the store look very unorganized. I don’t necessarily want to blame either the developers or Apple, but the blame must lie somewhere between the two. I think the developer should be fined for putting the wrong genre on the app, while Apple should be responsible for policing this. The app I review today should not be in the Reference category, but more so in the Games category.

What it Offers

First of all, I have to admit that this is the first time I have ever heard of Bubble Guppies. It looks like quite a fun show for children, I have to admit, but I have no idea about the characters in the show. Nonetheless, by simply looking at the characters and guessing their name I was able to do a quiz round, getting all answers correct! The character names are easily guessed by looking at the character models. You simply get four names to pick from every time the app shows you a photo. Each game has about five questions, and your points are accumulated across these rounds.

Graphics and Sound

In this case, and in the case of every other quiz app I will review in the future, I will focus more on the design of the app as well as the quality of the pictures that the quiz uses for the questions. The sound is a bit irrelevant as it simply gives you a good or bad sound. That is about it. The quality of the pictures used is quite high, and not limited to one picture per character. Expect a lot of variety in the questions the first few times you play the quiz. The design is quite good and easy to use for everyone, young or old.

This app is ideal if you want to talk to your kids about the show Bubble Guppies. For your children this app might be too easy, as there are only so many characters in this TV show. The app is wrongfully put in the Reference section of the App Store, which makes it difficult to find. The app is designed for both iPad and iPhone and is just over 12 MB.
