As usual, Apple’s debut of the new iPhone welcomed long lines filled with people who wanted the bigger screen. Both of the new iPhones, the 6 and the 6 Plus, went on sale in Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Germany, France, the United States, Canada, and the UK. For the last two days, people lined up outside so they could be the first to get the device. At the NY store on Fifth Ave, cops put up barriers and the line was more than 10 blocks long. For the 15 minutes before the phones went on sale, the crowd cheered. In Paris, hundreds gathered outside the Apple store, with the line going all the way around the opera house. A Belgian student said he hadn’t yet decided between the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus; he went on to say that he needed to feel the phones in his hand before making the decision.
In London, over a thousand people waited in line for the Regent store, with some of them sitting on cardboard to stay off the wet pavement.
