Apple TV may not have had a major overhaul lately but it’s still really popular among people who like to stream movies and other TV content. It can also send your device’s or Mac’s screen to your set and can also sync with your iTunes media or photos. It’s not perfect, though, so here are some common problems you might run into with your Apple TV and how to fix them.

  1. Probably the most common issue you’ll have is with the WiFi; you could have trouble finding a nearby network, become connected to a network, or have problems accessing content even if you’re connected. To fix any of these issues, go to Settings > General > Network and choose Test Network. You might need to reboot your router or the Apple TV. To restart the Apple TV device, go to Settings > General > Restart.
  2. If you run into video problems, like have audio but no video or no audio nor video, make sure the HDMI cable is plugged in properly at both ends. If the resolution is set wrong, that could cause video problems. Press and hold the Menu and Up buttons on your remote for about six seconds. This will cycle to the next resolution and will continue every 20 seconds. Press Play on the remote to keep the resolution it’s on or Select to move manually to the next resolution.
  3. If you lose your remote or it stops working, you can operate Apple TV without it.. If you’re trying to use the remote but it won’t work, you might need to pair it with the Apple TV. Hold the Menu and Left button to clear the current pairing and then hold Menu and Right for six seconds. You should see a chain-link icon on your TV screen when it is paired. If that doesn’t work, you might need tor replace the battery in your remote.
