Apple to introduce new products at media event on September 10th

A new report in the Wall Street Journal from Ina Fried says that Apple will be holding the media event on the 10th of September. This would coincide with the second-to-last day of the IFA consumer electronics trade show held in Germany. The IFA will be where Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 2 and HTC may release the “One Max” 5.9” phablet.

This event will see the launch of iOS 7 officially which will support iPhones from 4 onwards and the iPad 2 onwards. The 5th generation (and newer) iPod touches will also be able to use this version of iOS.

However the big event will be the unveiling of the iPhone 5S, which will feature a similar design to the iPhone 5 but have faster internals. There might also be the iPhone 5C aimed at entry level users, with a lower price and multiple colors for the rear casing.

The iPhone 5C might replace the iPhone 4 in many markets, a device that Apple says is selling very well. The iPhone 4 is on it's way out now though, and iOS 7 is expected to be the last major operating system update for the device.
