Throwing you right into the fray is this fast-paced, action-packed game that will have you running for your life as you dodge falling bombs, jump over mines, and try to “get to the choppah” without being blown to smithereens by your attackers!

This game is far from perfect in terms of its aesthetics and control system; however, I have been having a lot of fun playing it so far.

I like the way you can earn coins throughout each level and then spend them on new uniforms with health bonuses. This definitely adds an element of progression to the gameplay which I feel would otherwise be rather short-lived in its appeal.

The easiest and perhaps most amusing way of summing up Bomb Survivor is to include a line that the developer put into the iTunes description page, which reads: “You will go through different missions where you must strive to survive.”

This is about as apt a single-sentence description as you’re ever going to get out of me, and it certainly sums up what you’ll be doing in this game...surviving!

The gameplay is very simple, with your character running from right to left along a parallax background, and all manner of aircraft flying overhead and raining down hell. Your job is also pretty simple: make it back to the chopper in one piece (or at least no more than two or three pieces)!

Every few levels you’ll also get to play a bonus stage which has some slightly more friendly aircraft dropping coins for you to collect. These coins can be spent on new uniforms that will give you health bonuses so you can hopefully survive a little easier when you return to the front line.

You’ll be pleased to know that you can also share your scores from each level with your friends and family online via Facebook and Twitter. Your scores are also synchronized with Game Center.

One thing that I have found a teeny bit annoying is that at the end of each level, the dialog box for sharing your score via Twitter keeps coming up automatically. I’m not sure if this is by design but I would much prefer that it didn’t happen.

Bomb Survivor is a very simple game so there isn’t much more for me to say about it.

If you want a nice simple action game that you can play on a casual basis, I think you’ll find that this title should fit the bill perfectly!
