Splosher app review: a challenging addiction

Reviews

Introduction

Have you ever come across those games that are just so challenging and frustrating that you become addicted because you are determined to succeed? The Splosher app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone is the perfect example of such a game. This is a relatively new release that is very simple as far as the game concept goes but you will spend hours upon hours trying to master it. It's the kind of game you just can't put down as you hear yourself saying time and time again - just one more try.

Don't Be Fooled

All too often we see a simple-looking game and write it off thinking it's too much of a cake-walk. You won't want to write this one off just because it looks easy because within your first game you'll find this one delivers a very fun challenge. The goal of this game is to get and then keep as many balls as possible on the screen for the longest time possible. Yep, it's a very easy concept and even the gameplay is smooth and simple. You just need to hold your device flat and then balance the ball as you would in real life since it uses a physics engine that responds realistically to your movements.

As mentioned this is a pretty new release so it doesn't yet have any updates, customer comments, or a customer rating. The best part is that the game is free to play. The one catch is that you'll need iOS 7.0 or later to play.

Playing the Game

Since the game uses realistic physics you can expect the balls on the screen to respond to even the slightest of moves. You need to have fast reaction speeds in this game and really think about what you're doing. In order to get a ball you just tap on the screen, and if your ball hits another ball or the edge then it's game over for you. As if the game isn't challenging enough it also supports the Game Center so you can see how you stack up next to your friends. You can also post your high score to Twitter and Facebook and even challenge friends through these outlets.

The Splosher app feels like a really complete offering. I like how simple things have been kept, the game controls are intuitive and incredibly smooth, and you just won't be able to put it down. Sometimes the most simplest of concepts is really the best ones.
