LookOut – Blizzard

Price: Free

For: iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 4.3 or later

LookOut Blizzard is all about a tale of snowball survival.

This game will remind you of Tilt to Live or Labyrinth, with the goal to keep your snowball moving by tilting your iOS device. You’ll go up against water, fire, earth, and other obstacles that will destroy your snowball into nothing but little bits of powder.

Your movement will be across snow, so don’t expect super-tight controls like with the other games mentioned, but the controls are pretty responsive.

Depending on the level you are on, you will have a different goal. Some levels require you to gather all the snowflakes, some have you stay in the maze until all of the walls are down, and in some you’ll have to beat a time limit. You’ll be on your toes constantly so don’t get too comfortable.

The first few levels seem pretty tame – until you get your first fireball thrown at you. After that you’ll realize you’re only one wrong turn away from dying.

The sound effects are cool and the game itself is exhilarating. The visual effects are a little boring, but really, what’s exciting about snow?

What’s interesting is that you won’t die every time you’re hit by a missile; so be prepared for different ill-effects.

The app is optimized for the iPad. You can play in Multi-player Mode or Survival Mode.LookOut Blizzard app review

LookOut Blizzard was updated to Version 1.0.3 on December 20, 2012. The update added new challenges, improved Facebook integration, added dynamic sound, and made performance enhancements. It currently has 11 customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars.

I really liked this game because of the progressively difficult levels and the fact that every level has a different objective.
