Smart Alarm Clock by Plus Sports is an app that not only wakes you up, but it does it in such a way as to make sure you are as rested as possible.
The app works to monitor your sleep phases so that it can tell exactly when is the best time to wake you up. You can use your own music to fall asleep, or use one of the app’s “chill-out” tracks. Likewise, you can use your own music to wake, or set one of the 20 pre-installed wake-up tracks.
The app will also record all of the sounds you make as you sleep. This will prove once and for all if you snore or make other weird noises that disturb your sleep.
The app offers Retina graphics, in-app purchases for more tracks and a weather gadget, and your screen dims immediately to save your battery. You can also share your info through Twitter, Facebook, or email.
The app works in background mode, so you don’t have to keep it active all night.
Smart Alarm Clock was released mid-May, 2013. The app is available in eight different languages and requires 26.4MB of storage space. It has 492 customer ratings so far, with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. I really like this app. I especially appreciate the part where it records the sounds you make: I’m a bit of a sleep talker and it’s pretty hilarious to hear myself go on during the night. I do feel more rested now that the app is figuring out when is best to wake me during a light sleep cycle.
