iHeadache app review: keep track of your headaches so you can discover what triggers them

Reviews

Introduction

Anyone who has ever suffered from a migraine, or any kind of headache for that matter, knows how debilitating it can be. With this app, you’ll be able to record various details of your headaches when they occur so that you can develop a better understanding of exactly what is triggering them so you can tweak your lifestyle to potentially improve your quality of life.

I’m fortunate enough to not suffer from headaches very often, but looking at the features available in this app, and looking at what other users have been saying, I think that iHeadache looks to be a very effective tool for helping to free yourself from the pain of recurring migraine and headaches.

Log Your Headaches

I should probably preface this review by saying that I will be referring to the Lite version of iHeadache.

The main limitations of the Lite version are that you can only record up to two weeks’ worth of data whereas the full version of iHeadache enables you to store up to a year’s worth in addition to exporting your data to a spreadsheet.

Moving on, this is a very well-laid out app which enables you to input details such as the start time and length of your headache, as well as the initial and maximum severity. There are also dozens of questions you can answer to log your symptoms, medication you may have taken, and how it impacted your day.

Figure Out What is Causing Your Headaches

You can actually create your own Medication Profile and Trigger Profile by inputting frequently used drugs and things you think may be causing your headaches. I think this is a great way of totally personalizing iHeadache so that you can use it more quickly, which is exactly what you want when threatened with the onset of a migraine.

If you look at the Report section, you’ll see various options for generating detailed text reports of your logged headaches, and you can toggle details such as medication and triggers on and off to make things as basic or detailed as you require.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Log your headaches with details such as symptoms, medication, triggers, and much more
  • Create your own Medication and Trigger Profiles to streamline how you use iHeadache
  • Generate extensive reports detailing your headaches over a timeframe ranging from anything from one day to one year (only two weeks of data can be stored in the Lite version of this app)

Cons

  • There is nothing negative to say about this app

Final Words

Logging your headaches with iHeadache is going to enable you, over time, to more clearly see what is triggering them so that you can remove allergenic food, medication, or any other factors in your life that are contributing.

I don’t have a single negative word to say about this app because I genuinely think it is a must-have resource for any of you who are struggling with the bane of migraine!
