What to do if you lost your iPhone or iPad? First of all, do not panic. There is a way to locate it and get it back. Of course, it’s a stressful situation because, like all of us, you probably have your entire life attached to your device. But let’s go step by step and find it.
If you believe that any of your Apple devices are misplaced or stolen, you can use “Find My.” If you have a device with the same Apple ID, that would be the ideal situation. If not, you can still use “Find My” on someone else’s device and log in with your Apple ID. https://www.apple.com/icloud/find-my/
- Open the “Find My” app
- Choose the device you wish to locate
- Select the device on the map
- Choose “Directions” to open its location in Maps
If the device is switched off or does not have a location or an Internet connection, you might not see it on the list of devices.
In this case, you can open “Find My” and mark your device as lost.
- Open the app and choose “Devices.”
- Select your device
- Scroll down until you find “Mark as lost.”
- Click on “Activate.”
Now your device is locked with a passcode, and nobody can unlock it. At least it will keep your private data safe.
You still can track your iPhone even if it switched off.
If you do not have other Apple devices with the same ID, you can access any Internet browser and visit https://www.icloud.com/find. You will be asked to sign in with your Apple ID, and then the procedure is the same as with the “Find My” app.
Good luck in tracking your iPhone!
