In this day and age, it is impossible to deny that social media and social networks play a key role in connecting people from all around the world. Staying in touch with friends and family has never been this easy. That is why Instagram has become one of the most popular social networks in the world, with more than 1 billion monthly active users and 500 million daily active users - plus, 500 million daily active Instagram Stories users.

But let’s recap, what is Instagram?

Instagram is a social media app where its users can share photos and videos. Users can post the photos or short videos that they have taken, and share them with their family, friends and followers. Users can also decide if they would like to share their post with the public and for anyone to see or if they prefer to make their account private, so they can pick and choose who gets to see their posts.

Do users want to keep up with their favorite celebrities, their favorite influencer or even their favorite author? Then they are in luck because Instagram is the perfect way to do it.

Should you use Instagram and how exactly does it work?

Let’s recap again. Instagram is a social media network that is built around sharing the photos and videos that you would like your friends and followers to see. So, after creating an account, you will want to start following people, so that whenever they share a photo or a video, it will show up in your timeline.

You too can share photos and videos, shooting them in real-time and upload them directly from your mobile phone to your Instagram account. Plus, Instagram posts can be shared on other social media accounts, like Facebook and Twitter.

When you have a picture or video you want to share, you can upload it, edit it, and even add some filters to give the post a cool and unique style. When you are done editing your post, you can add captions and hashtags to it.

A cool thing about hashtags on Instagram is that firstly, if you use them on your posts, you can categorize them, and secondly, with the hashtags, you can find the type of posts you are looking for.

Let’s set up an account then

Instagram is somewhat different from some of the other social media platforms because it is mainly a mobile platform. However, you can go to its website Instagram.com or download the app in the App Store for iOS or in the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Then, just click on ‘Create an account’. You can sign up with a valid email address or a phone number, your name - and a username of course - plus a safe password. After that, just click next and register!

All the tabs on Instagram

The Home tab is the first thing you see when you open the app; on the Home tab you can see at the top of the Home feed, the Instagram Stories from the people you follow; and you can also have access to your Instagram Direct at the top right corner.

Then, the Explore tab on the app will help you look for other users’ accounts - like friends or celebrities - you want to follow. Plus, you could find more posts by searching specific hashtags or geotags. On the Explorer tab, you can also see post recommendations that are based on the people you follow, content you like and trending hashtags.

When you want to post a photo or a video, you just click on the Camera tab. You can either take the photo or video on the app or choose one from your device's library.

And the Profile tab is where you will find all your photos and videos, your profile pic and your bio if you decide you want one.

Introducing Non-VoIP numbers

There are a lot of ways of protecting your information online. For example, if you do not want anyone to see your post, you can go to your Profile Tab, click on Settings and switch over to enable your account privacy.

Another way of protecting your personal credentials is signing up with a mobile phone number, and a way of bypassing phone verification is by using Non-VoIP numbers. These numbers are real phone numbers, but because they are not attached to a geographical location, they are the perfect way to bypass account verification.

Meet VerifyWithSMS

VerifyWithSMS offers, hands down, the best Non-VoIP service to help you protect your information, because sharing information online is not something to take lightly. Without a doubt this service is simple, fast and reliable. Connect with your followers, post your favorite photos and keep up with your favorite people with real USA phone numbers.
