If you are looking for an iPhone and iPad app that lets you pick out photos, videos, gifs, and more to insert into a collage, then look no further! PicPlayPost is a unique and efficient tool that lets you construct beautiful collages.
This app has taken up the number one spot in the App Store for the Top Paid App, so I figured it must be must be a good one. The $1.99 price tag raised an eyebrow, but since using this app and understanding why the developers have decided to levy a fee on it, I am beginning to think that this app is worth more than the small price.
Let's see what makes PicPlayPost the top rated Paid App in the App Store.
Variety, as they say, is the spice of life, and PicPlayPost offers that in spades. When you first enter the app, you will be asked to select a frame. This frame is divided into squares or rectangles to provide you with a variety of 36 skeleton collages to work with. You can add up to six photos or videos in these frames.
Videos of up to 10 minutes can be added to the collage, as opposed to one or two minutes on other apps, making this a stand-out tool for YouTube users. You can edit the length of videos within this app prior to using them in your collage, so that everything syncs up nicely. GIFs can also be added for a quirky twist.
If you are using photographs only, you can also pick out your favorite song or any other track to add a musical element, making it an ideal greeting card creator. Music tracks, just like videos, can also be trimmed to your desired length before inserting.
Once you have selected the videos, photos, and GIFs that you'd like to include in your collage, you can also choose to apply one of 72 background patterns, eight image filters, or seven video filters to each segment. Borders can be applied with adjustable width and an option for rounded edges.
Social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and more are fully integrated with this app to provide great ease in sharing your work.
The interface works beautifully even on the smaller screen of an iPhone 4S. Importing and placing of videos and photos for optimal positioning can be easily done by dragging around individual files. Portrait as well as landscape modes are both supported on this app. Sharing is as easy as tapping a couple of times.
The developers have clearly worked very hard on upgrading the features based on user feedback. The new features are only available on iOS 7, however, so if you haven't upgraded yet, some of what I've covered above may not be applicable.
Some great features are not available on iOS 6 and below
