Whether you want to add light leaks and make subtle adjustments to your photographs, or simply add text and photo filters, PicLab HD is an awesome iPhone and iPad design app that will enable you to do all this and more to make your photographs look like professional-quality works of art.

All the features are incorporated into a beautiful and simple iPhone app for design which allows you to easily employ the tools you need to achieve the look you want.

This app costs $1.99, which includes the updates that are done monthly and also syncs across all your iOS devices after the one-time purchase.

Let's take a closer look at this design studio app for iPhone users in our Piclab app review.

Layer-Based Editing

No matter how complicated your edit might seem before you begin, PicLab HD – Design Studio is sure to turn it into a piece of cake with its layer-based editing.

There is a side menu which lists out all the text as well as artwork layers. These layers can be tapped on the side menu, enabling you to work on any layer at any time.

You can also re-arrange each layer by tapping and holding down, then dragging it to the position you want.

The app database contains a hand-picked collection of fonts designed by some of the most talented typographists around the world. Text can be applied in as many layers as you want, allowing you to adjust the size, placement, alignment, and of course, color. Fonts can also be bent and curved just like in MS Paint!

There are hundreds of illustrations, decorative ornaments, and design elements contained within the Artwork section. You can also import your own artwork such as a logo or any other element, and incorporate it into your artwork as a separate layer. This can also be used to import pictures and use as a collage-making tool.
