This is one for all you bedroom DJs out there who are looking for a nifty little tool to scratch out some awesome new sounds on your iPhone and iPad. With a 9-pad sampler, a host of audio effects, and loads more to boot, you’ll soon be cranking out some almighty tunes from your device!
I love these DJ apps with decks that you can play around with as they always allow for some great creativity for those of us who prefer to take a more tactile or hands-on approach when it comes to music production.
Tap DJ - Mix and Scratch your Music provides a very snazzy looking interface which contains a 2-deck turntable into which you can very easily import songs from your iTunes Music Library, or via USB and Wi-Fi transfer.
Once you’ve grabbed some of your tracks, you can begin playing around with various audio effects and a 3-band equalizer, both of which can be applied individually to each deck for what I think is a pretty decent level of customization.

This app also includes a sampler with nine pads that you can use to insert some seriously quirky sounds into your mixes, which, by the way you’ll have full freedom to record from within the app. You can even add your own voice to the mix by using your device’s integrated microphone.
There also appears to be a fairly lively community of Tap DJ users, and you’ll definitely want to make sure you check out the top mixes to find out what other users are producing and discover some cool new sounds; perfect for getting a little inspiration!

One user has remarked that this app works perfectly 95 percent of the time, but it is prone to occasional crashing
The same user also commented that “Sometimes when selecting a song the app pauses the song playing for a second” – this appears to be a minor bug so it shouldn’t affect your overall experience too much
The overall consensus from users has been very positive regarding this app, despite a couple of minor bugs that are mentioned above, so I think you’ll be very happy with Tap DJ - Mix and Scratch your Music.
This iPhone and iPad app definitely receives a very strong recommendation from me.
