Introduction

Is your child currently at an age where he or she is starting to show in interest in spelling and/or reading? Even if they aren't it's never too early to start when you do so in a fun and engaging way.

The best spelling apps for the iPhone and iPad

The Spelling Monster app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and is recommended for kids ages six through eight, but really they could start earlier.

The spelling app helps them practice their spelling with customizable spelling lists. Of course the practicing through this iPhone spelling app is made fun in the form of mini-games.

Giving Children the Tools they Need

Here's your chance as a parent to make learning not just fun but even cool. This app provides kids with some very interactive and engaging tools that allow them to practice spelling words through the use of mini-games.

Best iphone and ipad apps

What is great about this app is that it is completely customizable because parents will be able to enter in the words that kids need to practice, and then kids can start the spelling experience.

As mentioned in the app description on iTunes it states it is made for kids age six through eight, but I feel like kids younger could also benefit from it and have fun.

A Smooth and Educational Experience

The Spelling Monster app provides kids with a smooth and educational experience that is also filled with fun. The mini games feature all kinds of fun and cute monsters, fabulous sounds and graphics, and of course interactive gameplay.

Because these are mini-games they do a great job at keeping their attention because the games aren't too long. Things are always changing and staying interesting.

I really like that parents get to set this app up with a personalized list of words for kids to practice. The words can be up to 13 letters in length so you can get pretty advanced. The spellings lists can be shared and synced through WiFi but gameplay doesn't require an Internet connection.

Parents can also adjust things such as the use of lowercase and uppercase, the difficulty level, and they can see their child's progress being tracked. As for how many lists of words you can enter, there is no limit.
