GuitarToolkit app review: a guitarist’s best friend (besides his guitar!)

Reviews

Introduction

GuitarToolkit is an iPhone and iPad app that really sells itself short with its title, as far more than just a guitarist companion, it provides support for banjo, ukulele, mandolin, and, bass, making it a must-have for all you fret board wizards out there!

The best instrument tuners for iPhone

This certainly isn’t the cheapest app of its kind in the Music category of the App Store; however, I think the comprehensive set of features more than justifies the price.

Not only has the developer provided tons and tons of functionality but has also ensured that the interface is sleek and uncluttered, and that the app in general runs smoothly and without any hitches that I’ve personally seen so far.

Supports Guitars, Banjos, Ukuleles, and More

This app provides a high-precision chromatic tuner with full support for 6-, 7-, and 12-string guitars, and 4-, 5-, and 6-string bass guitars. As well as guitar and bass, this app also supports banjo, mandolin, and ukulele, so no one is left out!

As well as a fairly standard chromatic tuner, you’ll also find a built-in metronome that I would definitely recommend using for your daily practice routine as it should greatly help to enhance your concept of timing and rhythm.

Access a Truly Gargantuan Chord Library

What’s more, GuitarToolkit includes a humongous chord library containing two million chords, scales, and arpeggios. You can also easily identify chords by using the Chord Finder, which dips into the chord library to help you compose songs more effectively.

Best iphone and ipad apps

I’ve been playing guitar for over a decade now and I really can’t emphasize enough how much of a difference it makes when you use different chord voicings in your songs rather than just resorting to simple Cmaj - Dmaj - Emin progressions, so be sure to make full use of the chord library!
