The Earthquake Map app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and has recently added a number of features to offer a better than ever package for users. From alerts to maps, this app has you covered on the latest earthquake events.
Perhaps you are planning to travel to an area known for its earthquake activity, maybe you live in one of these areas, or you just have an interest in this type of activity, no matter what the reason you’ll find this app to be quite informative.
This earthquake app truly provides you with all the information you need when it comes to earthquakes and their relationship with volcanoes around the world. This means users can stay informed of volcanic activity as well as seismic activity. You can set specified locations and then receive free push notifications on them. You can view such information as seismic stations, active volcanoes in your area, tectonic plates boundaries, nuclear power plants, and more. It goes much deeper than just basic information. This natural disaster app even supports a variety of languages making it all the more user-friendly.
The Earthquake Map app is free to use however there are a number of in-app purchases that range in price from $0.99 to $1.99. It seems as though developers have done an excellent job determining what users want as it scores 4.5 out of five stars from them.

The User Experience
The first thing that strikes me when you launch this app is just how common earthquakes are. I had no idea they happen on that regular of a basis. Obviously we hear about the big ones on the news but there are plenty happening around the world that you never even hear about. The Recent Quakes screen tells you where they have recently happened, with the most recent being on top of the list, when it happened, and its magnitude. Tap on any of these locations to see it displayed on a map along with the time/date stamp and its depth.
My one complaint about the app is that I wish the user interface felt and looked a bit more modern. As it stands it works perfectly fine but it’s not very engaging. It should also be noted that using Earthquake Map on your iPad ensures for the best user experience as you'll be able to see much more on just one screen.

View all the most recent earthquakes across the world
Receive free push notifications for selected locations

There have been some bug issues which appear to have been fixed
Despite a recent update to its user interface, it still feels a bit dull
