Slow app review: watch and analyse your videos in slow motion 2021

Reviews

Introduction

With the advent of technology, the average person is able to take videos constantly on their iPhone or iPad. Slow - Motion Video Player is a sports app that will revolutionize the way you watch your videos.

This app not only allows you to import your videos and watch them in slow motion, but you can also go frame-by-frame for in-depth analysis and extract photographs from your videos, which essentially turns your regular iOS camera into a slow-motion, high-end, 24 FPS video camera!

The best things in life are free, they say, and this iPhone sports app stands to validate this rule, as it can be downloaded for free from the Photo & Video section of the App Store.

Let's take a look at the features found in this good iPhone sports app as we dive deeper in our Slow Motion Video Player app review.

Video Analysis

Slow - Motion Video Player was developed for “in-house use” by the owner of the development company, who was looking for a way to improve his Aikido technique. He was looking for a tool that would enable him to slow down videos and even go frame-by-frame to have a thorough examination of his technique and slip ups.

Sure enough, as with most apps that are designed for self-use, this app is easy to use, look great, and ranks highly in effectiveness. The main screen has four menu options, namely Record, Gallery, How to use, and Feedback.

You can either capture a new video using the Record option, or import an already-existing one by selecting Gallery. When you have chosen a video for scrutiny, it will be compressed and imported into the app.

Features & Functions

Once you're got your video loaded on the app, it will automatically start playing with a timeline as well as frames laid out at the bottom. These features can be scrubbed to enable users to get to the points in the video that require a closer look.

There is also a timer at the bottom of the video which counts up in increments as small as a thousandth of a second to ensure users don't miss the tiniest details hidden within the video.

Users can also tap on the “Normal” button at the top center of the screen, which will give them the option to speed up the video to 1.3x, 2x, and 4x, or slow it down to 50 percent, 25 percent, or 12.5 percent of its normal speed.

This app also allows users to take videos and then “capture” the photo they want using the video. Photography purists might scoff at this feature, because it leaves out capturing options such as focus, aperture, and shutter speed, but for most users, this feature is groundbreaking, and much-needed. It's not always easy to capture action or candid shots, but this feature makes it a piece of cake.

Final Words

Slow - Motion Video Player is a very user-friendly yet highly effective app that will allow users to inspect the fine details of their videos.

This app will remain on my iPhone and iPad forever, because even if I don't take up Japanese martial arts, I am sure I can find many videos, and will take many videos, that have some priceless, lovely, beautiful, and funny moments that can be turned into photos.

If you even have a single video on your iOS device, I'd highly recommend trying out this app, as it will give you new eyes through which you'll find amazing new details.
