Lost or broken sleep can make life very difficult, which is something I’m sure we can all attest to, but Pure Sleep | AmbiScience™ • Binaural & Isochronic Ambient Sleep Utility has been designed to fix that with its collection of high-quality ambient, binaural, and isochronic entrainment tracks.

The best sleeping aid apps for iPad

I’ve come across so many of these sleep aid apps in the Medical and Health & Fitness categories of the App Store that I’m quickly realizing that there is very little variability between them.

One thing that might put you off of Pure Sleep is that the developer seems to have been neglecting it in recent months and years, so be sure to check out the Pros & Cons near the end of this review before downloading it.

More Than Two Dozen Tracks

This app contains a total of 27 audio tracks designed to induce more or less the same states of mind so that you can fall asleep more easily each night. You’ll also find a more rudimentary Progressive Sleep track that I’ve found to be great for general use.

The best sleeping aid apps for iPhone

My personal favorites within this app are the ambient tracks as they play some gorgeous soundscapes that I personally find very relaxing. Having said that, I’d recommend checking them all out because you might find the other entrainment tracks to be more beneficial.

 

Multitasking Support

Besides the audio content, Pure Sleep | AmbiScience™ • Binaural & Isochronic Ambient Sleep Utility lets you set up a countdown timer to have tracks gently fade out as you fall asleep, and you can also set up an alarm to ensure you wake up on time every morning.

What’s more, support for multitasking means that you can continue listening to the audio with the app minimized or your device locked.

• Before downloading this iOS app you might want to look at the following user remark which suggests that it is now being neglected by the developer: “No update for over 3 years! Developer hasn't as much as tweeted for almost six months. I think it's time to give up on this developer.
  
  Don't get me wrong. I love what this app does, and I use it often for sleep.
  
  The interface badly needs a ground-up rethink. Too much effort went toward it *looking* cool. Too many steps to set up a track, a frequency, a timer.”
