Have you been toying with the idea of a new haircut or hairstyle but aren't quite sure you're ready to take the plunge? That's where the Hairstyle app can come in handy for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone. There are more than 600 different styles that you can try out, which means you're bound to find one that works for you. Take a picture or use an existing photo of yourself to then try on these different styles in this app for hairstyles and color.
This hairstyle try on app is a great way to explore different looks without having to actually cut your hair. Check out this new hairstyles app in the review below and also take a look at our best hairstyle apps list for more great choices.
There's no fear involved when it comes to trying out a full new hairstyle thanks to the Hairstyle Lite app. You will either use an existing photo of yourself or take a new one and then try on these different styles. First you can pick a style and then choose a hair color.
Each of the styles allows for the choice of over 50 colors. If you find you still can't make up your mind, why not post the photo to your Facebook wall and ask for the opinion of your friends? This is your chance to get their opinions!
In the free version of the app you are given 15 styles to try on; they vary in length and shape. From here you can purchase more packages through in-app add-ons that range in price from $0.99 to $4.99. The $4.99 option unlocks all the packages, giving you more than 600 male and female options.
Wading through the Negatives
It seems as though users are less than pleased with this offering, commenting on the lack of free content, the fact that the ad placement interferes greatly with the actual app, and the fact that even with the add-ons there still isn't enough variety. When you launch the app you have the choice between using your own photo or picking a model that closely resembles your skin tone and face shape.
Using the models is very easy and I find you actually get a nice variety of colors, lengths, and styles. You can even move the actual hair around and position it the way you want.
Using your photo is also quite easy and again you get a selection of looks to try on. I find it pretty cool to see how the different colors and styles affect your face.
