If you have had issues with your blood pressure in the past and perhaps currently take medication to control it then you know exactly how important it is to monitor your blood pressure. The Instant Blood Pressure app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone gives users a way to measure their blood pressure in a quick and convenient way. You don't need any sort of additional medical equipment; your mobile device is all you need. This means users have the flexibility to discreetly take a reading any place and any time.
Carrying around a blood pressure cuff to monitor your blood pressure isn’t always very practical but at the same time it may be important to your health to monitor it on a regular basis throughout the day. The Instant Blood Pressure app is able to take an instant reading for you without any additional equipment, it’s all just done on your device. In fact because you don’t need extra equipment you’ll be able to take your reading without anyone even knowing. The way this app works is that it uses software that has been developed by biomedical engineers as well as software developments. In just 40 seconds or less you'll have a reading.
Now it should be noted that this is meant to be a convenient tool but it’s not guaranteed to be as accurate as a traditional cuff. The app was last updated just a couple of weeks ago when a bug fix was made. Users have given the app 3.5 out of five stars as some have had excellent experiences with it while others haven't been as impressed.
Easy to read measurements
Taking a Reading
As stated, when you use the Instant Blood Pressure app you get just that: an instant reading. The app takes less than 40 seconds to capture your reading and includes your heart rate, diastolic, and systolic measurements. There are a couple of steps to follow when taking a reading, however, and they help to ensure it's as accurate as possible. First you'll want to take off any outer clothing layers. Next put your right index finger on the rear camera light and lens. Keep your finger in this spot while you put the device against your chest on the left side. The app will then take a measurement and alert you when it’s finished. It's a great way to get a quick reading on the go which at least gives you a rough idea of where your blood pressure is currently sitting.
