Dragon Bane Elite is a well-crafted effort in the MMORPG category. Are you ready to fight bandits and slay dragons? Well you’ll definitely get all you can handle in Dragon Bane Elite. There are tons of MMORPG games available in the App Store, but they’re not all created equal. Dragon Bane Elite gets it right, with a good blend of simulated fights and actual player controlled action. This is a free RPG app, and it’s available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Like most games in the MMORPG category you begin by selecting your character for the game, and then you can start exploring the town. It’s a good idea to have a look around before you start playing the game to familiarize yourself with the layout. While most MMORPG games have a lot in common, they all have their own unique feature. To take full advantage of everything the game has to offer it pays to have a look around, and it’s a heck of a lot less frustrating when you know what you’re doing! At 87.4 MB, you don’t have to worry about the app taking up a lot of space on your device.
The graphics in this game are pretty good. They’re not what you’d call cute. I’d say they’re more reminiscent of games like Street Fighter, or if you’re really old, Altered Beast! There’s a whole world of choice, and the characters really are quite detailed. The developers did a good job of creating a world that’s rich and full of different surprises.
As you begin your adventure you’ll notice there’s a little armoured hand that’s always pointing you to your next adventure. This is a nice little feature that makes the game that much more enjoyable because it removes a lot of the guess work. To learn what the next move is, or quest if you prefer, the hand directs you to tap on a round icon in the top right corner. Here you’ll be guided by General Irina on what your next mission is. You’ll often be directed to forge your weapons before continuing on your mission in order to strengthen them for the fight ahead.
Once your weapons are forged and ready to go, General Irina well send you on your mission. This might be a quest to defeat bandits, recover gold, or maybe even a chance to defeat a dragon! As you complete each mission successfully your characters status or level in the game will increase. You’ll have the opportunity to take on companions, add better weapons, and eventually you’ll get the opportunity to join a guild with greater interaction within the online gaming community.
There’s a whole world to explore here, and if you want to speed your progress up a little you can always do so by taking advantage of in-app purchases. What I really liked about this game was the good blend between your control of the character and mission simulations. Fights are simulated, but because you do control your characters movements before and after the fights you really do feel like you’re interacting with the game. The instructions you receive as you progress through the game are also very helpful, and you can share your progress with your friends on Facebook.
Dragon Bane Elite is an excellent choice. The gameplay combines a good blend of user interaction and simulation. If you’re a fan of this genre, this game is definitely worth downloading even if you don't consider it one of the best RPG games for iPhone.
