Tip your Glass

There’s an app for just about everything these days and wine tours are no different. Winery Finder falls into the vacation app category, but it’s nothing like Kayak or Travelocity. It has a very specific purpose – helping you plan the perfect vacation touring the Napa Valley wine region.

When you think about wine you think about the food that goes with it, so you’d expect that an app like this would help you find restaurants in the area as well, and Winery Finder doesn’t disappoint.

There are other apps in the wine country category, but they are generally specific to one winery. Winery Finder is unique in providing information and deals for an entire region. That expanded focus makes this an app well worth checking out if you’re a wine lover.

You’ll find a lot of great material and vacation ideas in this app, and the app has been highly rated by other users. It’s actually rated as the most downloaded app for wine country, so there’s no doubting its popularity. At 22MB it won’t hog up resources on your IOS device either.

The app itself is pretty easy to get the hang of. The main screen is divided into eleven different categories. They’ve pretty much thought of everything. Are you looking for the best deals? There’s a category for that.

Do you want to know the top 25 things to do while you’re visiting the Napa Valley? They’ve got you covered. They also have a top 25 list of the best wineries in the region, and a guide to the best places to eat as well.

Best of all, everything works smoothly. When I tried any one of these categories it was full of information and suggestions.

Another great feature of this app is its use of Social Media. There’s a YouTube video section which links to some great video guides and reviews of the region. You can also use your Facebook feed within the app, as well as accessing what other visitors have posted from their own Napa Valley experience.

Additionally, there are some great Flickr images to look at. I really didn’t find a whole lot wrong with the app. My only issue with Winery Finder was that it tends to crash on occasion. This was a little bit irritating. How frustrating is it to just get to that piece of information you’re looking for only for the app to shut down?
