Some of the biggest stars and pro athletes swear by the health benefits of yoga. Many older athletes are convinced that a strict yoga routine can actually extend their careers by years. It stands to reason that the rest of us can get a lot of benefit from adopting yoga in our daily routines as well. The developers of Yoga Poses - Around the World created their app to inspire as many people as possible to adopt the yoga lifestyle.

There are a lot of unique poses in the pictures shared through this app which is probably its greatest strength. We’re all familiar with some of the more basic yoga poses such as the Lotus Position, but have you heard of the Full Wheel Pose? This is one of many unique yoga poses you’ll be exposed to in this app. It’s not a very large app at 3.3MB, so you don’t have to worry about it taking up a lot of space on your iOS device.

How it Works

Yoga Poses is a pretty simple app. It’s essentially a photo sharing app for yoga enthusiasts, bringing together some great photos in locations around the world of average people like you and me in their favorite yoga poses. It isn’t very difficult to use. When you first open the app you’ll notice a tab in the bottom right corner; you simply swipe this to the left to get started.

Once you’re in all you have to do is tap on the pose you want to take a look at and you’ll open up a larger picture. You can either close the picture to return to the main board by clicking on the x in the top left corner, or you can swipe left to right to go to the next picture. You also have the option to share a favorite pose through social media by clicking on the share tab in the top right corner. If you swipe up from the bottom within any picture you can find a few details about the person who posted the picture, such as where in the world they live.

Back on the main board you’ll find a settings tab in the bottom left. From here you can choose from 30 or 40 different categories of poses. There’s also an option to vote on your favorite pose, and to choose a random pose, sort of a shuffle option. You can also share your own poses. This app excels in keeping things simple. They haven’t added a whole lot of unnecessary bells and whistles but they’ve stuck to a basic photo sharing social media app and it works.
