Diet Point app review: towards a healthy new you



If you’re interested in losing weight, or just improving your weight through healthy eating, then you may want to check out Diet Point. This is a great app with an abundance of suggestions and information to set you on the right track. After all, we’re not all dieticians or health experts so we can use a little help in our efforts to improve our quality of life. This is a free app, and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and the iPod touch.

There are probably hundreds of apps dedicated to helping us improve our health; it’s a very competitive category in the App Store. It stands to reason if developers want to be a success in this category they’re going to have to offer something a little different. This is exactly what the developers of Diet Point have accomplished. This is a slick little app that covers most of the basics. There are so many different diet choices here there’s bound to be something that appeals to just about everyone.

There’s a lot of free information, but there’s also a fair bit that requires an upgrade to the pro version to access. I was disappointed that the shopping lists were blocked in the free version but having said that, this is a very worthwhile app that you’ll likely be okay spending a few dollars on.

How it Works

When you run the app for the first time you’ll be prompted to create a profile. This includes things like your height, your weight, and your age. Once you’ve done that you’re ready to look for a diet that works for you. There are numerous different categories so there’s a good chance you’ll find something that appeals to you. Each plan is spelled out in detail with meal by meal and day by day instructions making them easy to follow. Once you’ve selected one you want to try you just add it to your My Diet section.

What I really found helpful was the handy little meal reminder that comes with this app. It allows you to save your preferred meal times, and it will then remind you when it’s time for a meal. An important part of any diet is eating on a regular schedule. Another great feature in this app was the little health related tips that appear at the bottom of every page of your meal plan. This includes things like suggestions for when you can sneak some exercise in, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

The app works very well. There were no glitches of any kind that I came across. Perhaps the most refreshing thing about the app was that there were no unwanted ads to detract from the overall look and feel. This is not very common in any app in any category!

Final Thoughts

This app is a great tool if you want to get serious about following a healthier diet. There are a lot of choices, and they provide you with step-by-step instructions for planning your daily meals.  You will have to purchase the pro version to access everything in the app, but even the free version has some great tools to get you started. It’s definitely worth a look.
