What I really liked about this app is that you don’t have to sign up for anything. They don’t ask for all your personal details. The only thing they need is either your email or your cell phone number to text you when your hotel becomes available. Which method you choose for receiving your notifications is entirely up to you. This app only requires 9.1 MB of free space on your IOS device.

How it Works

Hotel Alerts may be one of the simplest travel booking apps you’ll ever use. When you open the app you’ll be presented with two choices: new alerts, and my alerts. Simply tap on the one you want to access. If you’re using the app for the first time you’ll obviously want to choose new alerts to get started. If there’s a specific hotel you’re looking for you can use it to define your search, otherwise you can simply search for a hotel in the city you’re traveling to. Then all you have to do is choose the dates you’d like to book for and tap on lookup to get started.

Once you’ve saved your alert you can check on it anytime within the app, but you can also ask the app to alert you when your desired room becomes available. You can have the app notify you by email or by text to your cell phone, or you can simply set it up to send a push notification to your IOS device once your room is available. I really liked this last option. Essentially you can be notified when you’re hotel is available without ever divulging any personal information. This is very unusual, and very refreshing. I found the app worked well no matter which city I chose anywhere in the world.
