TipEasy was designed to inspire appreciation for service providers. Whether a waiter, valet, stylist, artist, or other service provider, you can search for the individual, and then tip them through the app using your Apple account. This service is only available in the U.S. right now, but it’s a great idea. It reminds me of PayPal in that you register an account, then people can search you to tip you, but you can also find the person that you need to tip.
So, provided that your friends, and service providers are registered, you can easily tip them without needing pocket change. I can see how this app would take off, but I don’t have a lot of experience with paying for stuff with my device. I’ve seen the commercials, but have yet to see someone in real life do this. Maybe it’s because I’m in Canada, but it just hasn’t happened yet.
TipEasy is meant to inspire appreciation for the little things, and so in this the security is very important to the company. They don’t want to get hacked, so a recent update improved security. It does track your location, and it does require you to provide personal banking information. This is one of the reasons that I like PayPal, it is simply extremely secure and to change my own password I need to go through a bunch of hoops.
I looked down some of the reviews, and the app has only five star reviews so far. Comments like a user friendly interface, that it really helped the user streamline their time, and that it’s easy to use. I like seeing these comments as it means that the app is meeting it’s mark of being user friendly and functional.
TipEasy - Tipping is an iPhone and iPad all that was designed to make tipping those in the service industry easier. With using debit for the majority of our purchases, people no longer have pocket change on hand as readily as in the past. This is a problem for industries that rely on getting tips, because while it’s nice that people are apologetic, it doesn’t help the pocketbook of those doing the work. TipEasy saw a need for an easy to use tipping service that will allow the users to trade money without having to remember to have pocket change ready. They have hit the mark with this nicely designed app, I just hope it comes to Canada soon.
