For most of us, PowerPoint by Microsoft has always been the go-to presentation tool. With PowerPoint you can create professional looking presentations that will wow any audience, but the problem is that this application is optimized for use on a PC: it’s not meant to be used on an iOS device. Microsoft has recently made office applications available for iOS devices but they contain all the limitations that come with any PC application. With Doceri Interactive Whiteboard you can create powerful presentations that utilize all that the iOS platform has to offer. This is a free app and it’s only compatible with the iPad.
Doceri may not be the only presentation app available in the App Store but it’s probably the most innovative. This app provides you with the tools to produce creative presentations that you simply can’t put together using the traditional PowerPoint style tools. You can easily include your own drawings and diagrams, and you can also insert great graphics which you would expect from any presentation software. Doceri has few peers in the App Store.
One of the coolest features of Doceri is that it works well with Apple’s Air Play technology. You can easily share your projects with others using an iPad and Apple TV technology so there's no need to be tied down by a bunch of wires. The biggest drawback of Doceri is that native presentations have to be created using the Doceri drawing tools; if you’re not a good drawer your presentations have the potential to look a little amateurish. This app will require 33.2 MB of available space on your iOS device.
How it Works
When you open Doceri for the first time you’ll notice you have the option to run the program as a standalone application on your iPad or in conjunction with your personal computer and the choice is up to you. If you choose to run Doceri by itself you’ll notice that the application has a very simple interface. You can choose to view sample projects to get a feel for how others have used the app before you or you can jump right into starting your own project by tapping on the + sign in the bottom left-hand corner of the app.
If you decide to step right into your own project the first thing you’ll have to do is select a screen resolution; this is handy if you’re planning on presenting your project in a format other than the iPad otherwise it’s best to select the iPad’s default setting. The main interface of the application is very much like any drawing application you’ve ever used before the only difference is you can save these creations as a project to share with others. All the standard drawing tools you’ll find in other applications are included, and you can also easily insert images from your own gallery to include in your presentation.

Doceri is a powerful little presentation app with a lot of useful real-world applications. It allows you to create presentations by hand that can be viewed using Apple’s Air Play technology. If you’re looking for an iOS alternative to PowerPoint then Doceri is a great option.
