MobileDay Conference Call by MobileDay Inc. is an innovative new app for conference calls designed to be your own mobile assistant. If you’ve ever been frustrated because you missed an important conference call, you’re likely aware of how damaging this can be to your career. When you miss a meeting with your boss or an important client the impression you give is that at the very least you’re disorganized. Perhaps you can make up for this with your sparkling presentation skills, but for most of us this can be hard to recover from. With MobileDay Conference Call you can take all the worry out of trying to keep your meetings and conference calls straight as the app takes care of all of this for you. This is a free app and it’s compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
There is no shortage of conference call apps in the App Store and they all provide a similar type of service. Most of these can tap into your calendar, cross reference this with your contact list, and automatically call the right contacts when your calendar indicates a meeting is on the horizon. The only problem with a lot of these apps is that they are initially very difficult and confusing to learn how to use. MobileDay Conference Call is one of the simplest conference calling apps to set up you’ll find on the iOS platform.
This app has a nice clean interface that features a simple two tone color scheme that’s easy on the eyes. Every tool you’ll need to use the app is easily accessible from the menu in the top left corner and there are ton of different feature to help you figure out how to use the app – it includes everything from a comprehensive FAQ page to video tutorials as well. There are no ads, which can be a real distraction for a busy professional on the go, and you won’t have to worry about any constant pop ups trying to get you to update to the pro version of the app. The pro version is available for purchase as an in-app purchase, but there’s no hard sale here the choice is yours. With the free version you get 10 free calls a month, and with the pro version your calls are unlimited. This app will require 44.3 MB of available space on your iOS device.
The first time you use MobileDay Conference Call you’ll be prompted to create a login, and the app will also ask for permission to send you notifications, to access your contacts, and to access your calendar. If you’re serious about using this app you’ll want to go ahead and say yes to all of the above. Another part of the initial set up is providing the app with the numbers for your conference calls, along with your host code, and/or guest code. You can also create an automated email to send out when you’re running late for a meeting.
With the initial set up out of the way, connecting to your meetings is a simple process – the app will send you reminders based on your personal preferences at pre designated times before the meeting starts. When you receive a notification all you have to do is tap on the green join button and the app dials into your meeting for you. The developers are also very interested in your feedback, so if your call was not completed correctly you can give the session a thumbs down, send an email specifying where things went wrong, and they will get back to you. It’s not unusual for an app to have the odd glitch, but it’s definitely refreshing to know the developers are actually trying to do something about it!
