Apps that allow you to convert documents to other formats are not a new invention, but the best ones normally come with a price tag – depending upon the sophistication of the program this may cost you as little as a couple of bucks, or in excess of $20.

For some people that may seem like a small price to pay to be able to work with your documents and edit them at your leisure, but if you can get the same type of app for free that’s a pretty good deal. PDF to Word is nothing fancy, but it Works.

The only thing I really didn’t like about this app is the initial landing page when you open the app – it’s basically a blank page with no information on it at all.

If you look carefully at the top of the screen there are two buttons on either side: in the top left is a + sign which simply instructs you to go to your document and open it using PDF to Word, in the top right is an options button which includes some simple instructions on how to use the app, contact information for support, and an upgrade option.

Apparently, the paid version of this app converts documents faster. This app will require 7.2 MB of available space on your iOS device.

Once you’ve done this the document will open up in the app automatically and begin its conversion process. In the free app this can take quite a while, but it does work. If you’re willing to upgrade to the paid version you can speed up this process considerably.

Once your document has been saved into Word format you’ll now be able to open it and edit it just like you would any other Word document. There are no limitations. It’s pretty cool how simple this is and if you deal with a lot of documents on a daily basis this app has the potential to be a game changer.
