Bible app review

Price: Free

Bible by allows users to read, listen and share the Bible on their mobile device.

There are a staggering 60 million people with this app on their mobile device that delivers hundreds of Bible versions in almost 150 different languages. While you read you can make notes that are private or public, highlight passages, and add bookmarks so you can come back to passages easily. It works in both offline and online mode; however, specific versions need to be downloaded in order to work offline.

Some of the versions available to read include the NASB, NIV, NKJV, KJV, ESV, NLT, and The Message. You also have the option of listening in audio mode instead. There are reading plans you can follow that give you topical plans, devotionals, portions of the Bible, or the entire Book. If you’re looking for something specific in the Bible you can search by keywords.

For verses that were special to you or you wanted to discuss you can share them with your contacts through SMS, email, or social networks.

Bible was updated on Dec. 19, 2012 and has 51,865 customer ratings with an average rating of five out of five stars.

What is great about this app is the ability to treat it as your own personal hardcover book which allows you to make notes, markings, add bookmarks, highlight text, and more, just as you would in a real book. It makes it easy to go back and find those sections that meant something to you or you wanted to study further.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with iOS 4.0 or later
