Scout Personalized GPS app review

Scout Personalized GPS

Price: Free

Scout Personalized GPS by Telenav, Inc. is a GPS navigation app that uses voice-guidance to help you find and get where you want to go.

There's no way of getting lost when you've got turn-by-turn voice instructions along your route. The app boasts less clicks and hassles so instead of fiddling with the GPS you'll be getting to your destination much faster.

Other features of this app include My Places, where you can store and save all the places you love to visit. You can even share these places with your friends. The My Search tool makes it easy to locate your favorite restaurant, store, friend's house, or whatever you're searching for. The Traffic tool helps you avoid any traffic snarls. My Dashboard is all about finding you the fastest route while updating you with the travel time.

Of course if you have GPS running in the background of your phone it will use more battery.

This updated version now includes iPhone 5 optimization, a listing of activities and events happening near you, and additions to My Dashboard - Recent Trips and My Places. You can even see upcoming turns before they happen so you can anticipate your route.

Scout Personalized GPS was updated on Jan. 8, 2013 and has 168 customer ratings with an average rating of four and a half stars out of five.

What I really enjoyed was the Nearby tool that gave me plenty of information about things to do, places to shop, restaurants to eat at, cheap gas, and plenty more all located near me. A lot of this information is handy and information I might not know about otherwise.

For: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular with iOS 5.0 or later
