Mystery Math Town by Artgig Studio is a great educational app that will help teach math to kids six to 12. This app is in Apple’s New and Noteworthy section, so check it out!

Mystery Math Town requires the player to use math to save the fireflies. The game is part search and find game and part math drills. All the while, it’s totally fun and suitable for kids five and up, depending on their beginning math skills.

The player’s job is to help a cute little friendly ghost to rescue the fireflies that are hidden all over Mystery Math Town. They’ll earn talking portraits for their Gallery, each with its own story to tell.

The app allows for multiple user accounts so more than one child can play. Each player gets to create his or her own avatar!

Math practice is turned into a great game experience that all kids will love. You can set the app to recognize different math skills in each player in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and varied number representations. Players get a bonus for extended gameplay.

Mystery Math Town was released in early April, 2013. The app has 17 customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. Feedback comments are all positive.

I think this is a really fun game to help kids learn. I like the fact that I can adjust the skill level for each child. My four year old has been playing this for 15 minutes straight, which is pretty impressive!
