Remote by Apple is meant to be used with iTunes to streamline your music.
This app syncs with the new iTunes and gives you quick and easy access to your library of songs. You'll be able to see what's coming up next and search through your music library. You'll be able to fully control your iTunes on your mobile device while they play on your Apple TV, Mac, or PC.
This is meant to be a very simplified way to view your songs and gives you the options of viewing an entire album with the expanded view feature.
Features include being able to choose a playlist, pick a song, and search through your whole library. Add new songs, update and create new playlists, and control each of the speaker's volume individually. Go ahead and rewind, pause, shuffle, and fast-forward from the app.
Use gesture functions to control your Apple TV, use the keyboard to enter text, and even manage your shared libraries on your Apple TV and iTunes.
The latest version of the app now includes better stability, enhanced search results, the ability to sort your podcasts and you can rate songs.
Remote was updated on Jan. 30, 2013 and currently has 825 customer ratings with an average rating of two and a half out of five stars.
While there are plenty of great features of this app there doesn't seem to be a consensus among users. There have been issues with it being buggy but the latest version of the app seems to have hopefully cleared up these problems.
For: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with iOS 5.0 or later. Remote is optimized for iPhone 5.
