UVmeter (UV Index) by morethan Apps is a weather app that gives you a quick and accurate reading of the UV index for your current location. The app was released on July 11, 2013 and is available in a large variety of languages include English, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish.

User Experience

There’s nothing to this app, simply launch it and get an instant UV reading in your current location. It doesn’t get faster or easier than this.

Features

View your current UV index reading on an easy-to-read meter. It takes the reading and the dial points in the area of low, moderate, high, very high, or extreme. The different areas of the meter feature their own color and number index.

Additionally, the app will give you the "recommended protection" such as the sun block needed, the sunburn times, and required equipment.

The UV index is a scientific and international measure of the ultraviolet radiation from the sun. These readings differ all the time so staying on top of them is always wise, especially during the summer months.
