Introduction

Todoist by Doist is a task management app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad that will help you manage all your daily tasks. This iPhone taskmanager syncs your tasks across all your devices so you can always access your to-do lists, no matter where you are.

The free version does have some limitations, but it will be enough for you to try and see if it will work for you and help you decide if you want the full version. One may also explore whether or not it's a viable business app.

Keep reading our Todoist app review for more details and let us know if you think it's one of the best task management apps for iPhone and iPad users.

What It's All About

As mentioned, this task management app does sync across devices, which means you need to log in for that to work. If you’re the type of person who avoids apps that require signing in, then don’t bother with Todoist. You’ll be asked to sign in with your Google account or with your email account.

After you’ve signed in, it’s easy to start creating tasks. You’ll be asked to name your task and put a due date on it. You can it with a priority and sub-item, as well. There’s another option there to assign a label, but that’s a Premium option. When you’re done, just click the check mark in the upper right-hand corner.

If you choose to add sub-items to a task, you can use the toggle to hide or show these under the main task. You can, for example, make groups like Craft Projects and make sub-items like “knit mittens,” “finish scrapbook,” and things like that, or in my case, put clients’ names as the main headings and different jobs you are assigned as sub-items.

Options and Features

A great thing about the app is that you can work offline, unlike some apps of this type. Of course, it won’t sync unless you have an Internet connection. The web version requires Internet to work.

Some of the downfalls of the app include the lack of ability to filter and see your completed tasks, add notes to your tasks, or to be able to add collaborators. There is also no encryption in the free version aside from the password.

The interface is very minimalist and clean. Your options are accessed through the menu button, and once pressed, you’ll see your options open to you in a sidebar. Tasks take up most of your screen.

When you view your list of tasks, you can choose one and click on it to see your options. You can mark it as complete, postpone it, or edit it if you are using the free version. The Premium version offers these options plus the ability to add notes.

The Premium version costs $28.99, which seems incredibly expensive for a to-do list app.

Other options you will access with the full version include the ability to track your productivity on Todoist.com, the ability to set up and receive reminders through a variety of options, and the ability to use colored labels, filters, and add notes, as mentioned.

Final Verdict

Overall, the free version of the iPad and iPhone task manager app offers quite a bit of functionality. It’s too bad that there isn’t any collaboration permitted, since that would add a lot of benefit to many people; however, it’s not something everyone needs.

If you’re looking for a good, solid task management app, then give Todoist a try. Heck, it may even be one of the best business apps or task managemeent apps for some of you.
