MyMedia - File Manager app review: high-end download manager with multi-tabbed integrated browser-2020

Reviews

Introduction

The MyMedia app is incredibly useful for those of you who are looking for a fully-featured file downloader and manager, featuring an in-app web browser, media player, and image viewer, complete with folders for storing your downloads and password-protection for extra security.

MyMedia app for iPhone is a powerful file manager app that enables you to manage files on your device. You can play the files, manage them and export them to your computer.

This is a great iPhone file manager and I’m especially impressed by the web browser which allows for multiple tabs to be opened. I’ve used a few different apps with integrated browsers and I can’t recall ever seeing support for tabbed browsing so that’s definitely a very cool addition to the My Media app.Check out our file manager apps list for iPhone and iPad.

Download Management...and Then Some!

When you first start up this app, the first thing you’ll see will be the Browser section. The default home page includes a handy explanation of what MyMedia - File Manager is and how to use each of the features.

Downloading files is pretty straightforward with this app, basically requiring you to tap a link, which MyMedia will detect as a download URL and present you with the option to either download the file or open the link.

You can also type or paste URLs directly into the address bar and again, MyMedia will pick it up as a download link and show you the same options.

Your New Music App?

The next section is called Media and enables you to easily view all of the media files you’ve downloaded, complete with a file management system including the ability to copy, paste, delete, and order your files, as well as creating folders to keep everything neat and tidy.

Mymedia app for the iPhone has document viewer that supports Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, pdf, txt, htm, html and rtf file formats. Also My Media app can extract ZIP and RAR files.

I was very surprised to also see that MyMedia not only features an in-app media player, it also provides the ability to create playlists, so if you wanted to, you could use this as your primary music and video app as well.

Moving on, we have the Other Files and Images sections which I think are fairly self-explanatory.

The Other files section features the same file management options as the Media section, and there is a button at the bottom of the Images section you can tap to export downloaded photos to your Camera Roll.

Final Words

I didn’t want to bombard you guys with a mindless list of features, but MyMedia - File Manager is very rich with functionality so be sure to check out the Pros and Cons listed above for a few extra features I haven’t mentioned elsewhere.

This is probably the best file downloader and manager app I’ve come across, and the developer has obviously taken the initiative to go that extra mile by adding in tabbed browsing and the ability to create media playlists. MyMedia is a fantastic app; I highly recommend it!
